It is with great pleasure and honor to serve you as the Principal of Toltec Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. Prior to becoming a school Principal, I served as Vice Principal, Capacity Building Coach, and a Classroom Teacher. I've been in the Toltec School District for 12 years and working with students has always been my passion. In total, I have worked in education for the last 18 years. I have three amazing kids, all who have or did attend Toltec Elementary School.
Student safety has always and will always be my biggest priority. We are very fortunate to have a School Resource Officer on our campus as well. We will continue to have monthly fire drills and quarterly lockdown drills. The purpose of these drills is to be prepared in case of an emergency. Our teachers know and understand that students may feel tense and worried during these times, however, they are well trained in making students feel at ease.
I firmly believe that educating your child is a team effort. It is very important to me to greet everyone who enters the school with the utmost respect. I have an open-door policy and value every stakeholder's opinion. Another priority I have for this upcoming school year is to improve academic achievement and success. One way we are doing this is by providing additional intervention time built into classroom schedules. As a district, we have purchased additional reading programs to help students who are struggling to be more confident and successful readers. As parents, one way you can greatly support us is to ensure your child is present at school on a daily basis. School attendance is very important and crucial for student success and academic growth.
