I am extremely excited to join Toltec Elementary School. Prior to becoming a Tiger, I was a K-8 Principal in Duncan, AZ for 5 years, a High School Principal for 2 years in Duncan, an Assistant Principal for 1 ½ years in Tucson, and I had taught High School English for 9 ½ years around Tucson and Casa Grande. I have been an Athletic Director at the High School and Junior High level for a total of 7 years, and I have coached multiple sports at the High School level. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio and I am big into sports. I have one daughter who is 11 years old, and my wife will be working at ACES this year.
School pride, along with student achievement are my biggest priorities for this year. It is my feeling that if a student feels a connection to the school, then we will see less discipline issues and higher scores in the classroom. As a Principal, I want students and families to feel a connection to the school and the great opportunities we have for the students inside and outside the classroom. If we can accomplish this, we will see an increase in student achievement.
We are hoping to add more assemblies and family events throughout the year to highlight what we are doing as a school. We will also be implementing Tiger Thursdays where we are asking the staff and students to wear Tiger attire or Blue and Yellow. We are also excited to implement our new PBIS program to the school to keep students in the classroom and learning.
I look forward to a wonderful year and getting to know the students and parents of Toltec Elementary. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
It’s a GREAT day to be a TIGER!!!!!
